PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

It’s an exciting time to be an engineer in the Sunshine State!

Florida is growing, infrastructure demands are increasing,  technology is changing the way we work, and new opportunities are emerging in aerospace and the continued development of our spaceports. As engineers, we have a unique opportunity to help shape what’s next.

Many of the decisions that impact our projects are made long before design begins. That’s why ACEC Florida’s work matters. As I begin my year as President, my focus is simple: strengthening ACEC Florida’s influence and increasing the value we provide to our members.

This year, we’ll focus on three priorities:

Communication – Tell a clear, consistent, and compelling story of engineering and the value our profession brings to Florida.

Member Value – Invest in leadership development, resources, and opportunities that help firms grow and succeed. I’m especially excited about the launch of our new Technology Committee, which will help members better understand and leverage emerging technologies.

Advocacy – Strengthen relationships with legislators, agency leaders, and industry partners to ensure engineering expertise has a seat at the table when important decisions are being made.

Advocacy and political engagement remain among the most important things we do as an organization. I encourage every member firm to support the National ACEC/PAC, which contributes to candidates running for Congress, and the Florida PAC, which contributes to candidates running for the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. Contributing to candidates who support engineers is one of the most effective ways we can strengthen our collective voice.

Thank you for your engagement, leadership, and commitment to our profession. Together, we can grow the influence of engineering and help shape Florida’s future.
