FLORIDA ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (FELI)
Transforming Leadership Opportunities into Reality
The Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) is a leadership program that puts training into practice. It was created to transition engineering professionals into community professionals and leaders within our societies, communities, and workplaces. Through its initial 10-month class, FELI enhances the leadership skills of its participants and sets out a clear pathway to put these skills into practice serving our profession and our communities. FELI also provides networking across the current and past classes, serving as an outreach group to business and community leaders.
FELI runs from November through August and consists of six sessions held in key cities throughout Florida. Each session focuses on a different aspect of leadership, ranging from the development of personal leadership skills to team building, through interactive sessions and first-hand accounts from experts in their respective fields.
Support the FELI Class of 2026 Projects
Each FELI class engages in community projects as part of their leadership training. The FELI Class of 2026 is turning leadership into action through two impactful community STEM projects that need your support:
STEM Innovation Lab for Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida
This project transforms an underutilized indoor space at the Tupperware Kissimmee Boys & Girls Club into a hands-on STEM Innovation Lab. The lab will provide youth with access to tools, technology, and guided engineering experiences designed to spark curiosity and build foundational skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
STEM Playground for Autism Inspired Academy in Clearwater, Florida
This project delivers an inclusive, autism-inspired STEM playground designed to support sensory needs while encouraging exploration, learning, and play. The space will integrate STEM-based elements in a safe, engaging environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and accessibility for children of all abilities.
